Agenda:
Insurgency in the Sahel

LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to G14 at IYC 2025. This year, our focus is on Terrorist Insurgency in the Sahel, a pressing global issue that affects millions. In this fragile region, communities face the challenges of armed conflict, political instability, and humanitarian crises, with consequences that ripple far beyond its borders.

Over the course of our sessions, you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, navigate diverse perspectives, and work together toward solutions that are both realistic and impactful. Your role as delegates is to bring research, creativity, and diplomacy to the table, ensuring that every discussion moves us closer to meaningful progress.

I encourage you to listen closely, collaborate openly, and engage with both passion and respect. Together, we can craft a debate that is not only productive but also memorable.

Yours sincerely,
Aarav Vora

Meet Aarav Vora, Chair of the G14 and someone who genuinely values quick thinking, solid logic, and a good back-and-forth. He’s all for sharp debate, bold ideas, and delegates who can hold their ground without a script. But beyond the clash, Aarav’s the kind of chair who’s got your back, always open to a good conversation, a creative solution, or just helping you settle into committee. With his background in robotics and debate, he brings both structure and balance to the room. If you're ready to think on your feet and have fun doing it, you're in the right room.

Introducing Ruhan Dhingreja: Vice Chair of G14. The one who always shows up prepared, listens more than he talks, and gets things done. On the field, he won’t do some crazy highlight-reel move, but he’ll be exactly where he needs to be. He’s not about being loud or flashy, but simply about reliability– he helps when asked, puts in the work, and treats everyone the same whether they're star players or benchwarmers. He's the kind of person who makes everything run smoother without you realizing it.
